@zareen said in BIF604 Assignment 1 Solution and Discussion: What you have learnt in basics of Bioinformatics. Also enlist and discuss the tools software and methods you have studied till now. Sample Assignment 1-Go to the NCBI database [image: 8iyTuWN.png] Open NCBI [image: vSScPmh.png] Select Protein database from here [image: cPlfT4h.png] Enter the name of your candidate gene (a gene, which you want to work upon) [image: SyhaQV5.png] Enter the name of your candidate gene (a gene, which you want to work upon) Enter it-> it will give you a list of all possible sequence datasets available related to the your gene (protein) [image: xWbG74G.png] Open it and then you can see the full sequence with all desired information in the first line. [image: VB67Hg5.png] Click on the BLAST icon present at the top of right menu ORyou can copy the sequence and open BLAST -> Protein to Protein (blastp) and past the sequence in input section. [image: 9Enn30a.png] [image: 96hqkg3.png] Then select Protein date bank database as reference [image: VJ1b4DA.png] Then Click on the BLAST Icon [image: MltWFgm.png] It might take some seconds [image: KJ4Vy0v.png] It will show a page like this [image: mi4DwBt.png] At the lower part of the pageyou will see a list of reference sequence of protein structure which our sequence has been mapped upon. Where at the right side different columns are giving the information about the identity, Query coverage and Accession ID etc [image: 6ITvTl5.png] At the lower part of the pageyou will see a list of reference sequence of protein structure which our sequence has been mapped upon. Where at the right side different columns are giving the information about the identity, Query coverage and Accession ID etc From here click the Accession IDs of top three references one by one and It will lead you to the following page for each time for each reference. [image: lA8tqRB.png] From here get the Complete information like accession number, Locus, Coding region etc. of the three references one by one and make a table. Then go back to the first page where you found your first sequence from. [image: RLdqOB1.png] From the above page see the right top encircled area it will give you the information about the orthologs of the Human Gene. Past the sequences of the same genes extracted from those three orthologs. At the end enlist all the databases tools software which you will have used.

The questionnaire is also a traditional technique of requirement elicitation. The questionnaire helps to get the relevant information from several persons. The questionnaire should be clear, concise and structured in order to get accurate results. Genuine requirements can elicit through a questionnaire. We can evaluate the results if the questionnaire by using statistical analysis. At the end, we will able to obtain refined requirements. @zareen said in MTH633 Assignment 1 Solution and Discussion: Write down the elements of group under composition Test 0: Is the operation associative? If not, then you’re done. 𝑇(𝑆) is not a group. If the operation is associative, then proceed to… Test 1: Does the set 𝑇(𝑆) contains an identity? If you have a candidate function in 𝑇(𝑆), then what equations must it satisfy? Does it? If not, then 𝑇(𝑆) is not a group. If you do have an identity, then proceed to… Test 2: Does every element of 𝑇(𝑆) have an inverse? Given an arbitrary function in 𝑓∈𝑇(𝑆), can you write down its inverse 𝑓−1∈𝑇(𝑆)? What equation must 𝑓 and 𝑓−1 satisfy? (Hint: you need the identity function.) If any function fails to have an inverse, then 𝑇(𝑆) is not a group. If every function does have an inverse, then… Congratulations! Your set 𝑇(𝑆) is a group. Reff
