Problem Statement
What is a jingle?
A jingle is a short, catchy song or tune used in advertising. Jingles are a form of sound branding.
A jingle contains one or more words that explicitly promote the product or service being advertised,
usually through the use of one or more advertising slogans. A jingle should be easy to understand,
memorable and demand attention of the listener.
Tasks:
You have to select a brand/product of your choice and write a commercial jingle on it using the
knowledge you have gained from your lectures on jingles.
You also have to write a few lines about the brand/product, its tagline and the name of its competitor.
You can take inspiration from the brand/products tagline while writing a jingle.
For Example:
Product: Coca Cola
Tagline: Open Happiness.
Jingle: “I’d like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony. I’d like to buy the world a Coke and keep
it company.”
Guidelines:
Select any existing brand/product and search for information on it from the internet. Keep in mind the
following rules while writing a jingle:
The jingle should be short, catchy and must have the brand/product’s name mentioned in it.
Keep in mind the geographic location, cultural context, target audience and competitive position
of the brand/product you have selected.
You have to write the given tasks in Microsoft Word and submit the exercise in .doc, .docx
format.
