ISLAMABAD – Pakistan to Introduce Visa-Free Travel for Chinese Citizens from August 14
The longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China has led to another significant milestone, making travel between the two nations even easier. Starting August 14, 2024, Pakistan will offer visa-free travel for Chinese citizens, as announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During a meeting with a high-level Chinese delegation led by Minister Wang Fukang, Prime Minister Sharif unveiled the new visa-free facility. He emphasized the advantages of relocating Chinese industries to Pakistan and expanding cooperation in various sectors, including industry, agriculture, and IT. The Prime Minister also assured that robust security measures are in place for Chinese nationals, especially after a recent incident in Bisham.
The visiting Chinese delegation will explore investment opportunities and collaborations in sectors such as IT, energy, and mining during their stay in Pakistan.
This move follows the rollout of streamlined visa processes, direct flights, and improved infrastructure through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which have collectively enhanced tourism and business exchanges. Supportive diplomatic relations between the two countries ensure the prompt resolution of travel issues, highlighting the depth of their strategic partnership.
