Assignment Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this assignment; students will be able to:
 This assignment will enable students to make appropriate diagnosis on the basis of symptoms.
 They will also be able to evaluate how different disorders can be differentially diagnosed. Assignment
Freud proposed five stages of Psychosexual development. The main emphasis in this theory is on the physical and psychological development of an individual. In this regard, scenarios related to Psychosexual stages of development are presented below in the table. Your task is to identify the psychosexual stage from given scenarios and then justify the reason of your selection.

Read the given scenario carefully and then answer the below mentioned questions.
Sara a 30 years old woman, had been working in a company for the last five years. She was married and mother of two kids. For the last two weeks, she had been feeling restless most of the time during day. She experienced a sudden weight loss despite of no change in her diet plan. Gradually; she started showing a lack of interest in her daily life activities which she used to enjoy in her past. For instance, she did not show any interest in her kids’ homework although she had a strong concern regarding her kids’ studies in the past.
Sleep disturbances also became a part of her routine. Due to improper sleep, it became quite difficult for her to concentrate on her house chores and job responsibilities. She got warning by her boss to accomplish her responsibilities in an effective manner otherwise she would have to suffer. As a result; she experienced a feeling of worthlessness. Her husband also showed aggression to her because of her irresponsible attitude. Due to non-supportive behavior of her boss and her husband, she experienced recurrent thoughts of suicide and wanted to end up her life.
Questions:
 On the basis of the symptoms, what is the diagnosis of the case? (2)
 Which symptoms lead you to this particular diagnosis? Enlist any five of them. (5)

 How this case will be differentially diagnosed from dysthymic disorder? (4)
 How this case will be differentially diagnosed from Bipolar I disorder? (4)
