In transportation and logistics, selecting a carrier for the transmission of the goods can be a challenging decision with enduring implications. A carrier partner significantly impacts the daily operations of the business due to dependency on it. Being insecure, it is of great importance that the business managers must take time to analyze and evaluate all of the available options and choose the carrier that will satisfy the supply chain needs – specifically capacity requirements.
To address the above mentioned insecurity, designing a guide would be of great importance that assists the logistics and supply chain managers with a thorough analysis of the most important factors to be considered for the selection of a carrier (like rail, road, ship etc.).
Task:
Based on common business needs you are required to determine and explain the most important factors and criteria to be used for the selection of a carrier.

 Students are advised to study the whole text carefully.
