Admission to government medical colleges in Pakistan is determined by the provincial or federal government, with a mandatory minimum weightage of 50% given to the NMDCAT. The weightage for private medical college admissions is as follows:
NMDCAT Score (50%):
Biology: 32%
Chemistry: 26.5%
Physics: 26.5%
English: 10%
Logical Reasoning: 5%
Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Pre-Medical Marks (40%)
Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Science Marks (10%)
Minimum Requirements:
65% or above in FSc/HSSC or A-Levels equivalent IBCC certificate.
55% or above in NMDCAT for admission to medical colleges and 45% or above for dental colleges.
The Pakistani government strictly regulates the number of available seats in both private and public medical colleges, prohibiting any college from admitting students beyond the allocated maximum seats under any circumstances.
