20% Rule for passing in Exam
There is requirement of passing a subject that one student should be consistent in his studies through out. Therefore you are required to get 20% marks in rest of the items like assignments, midterm, discussions etc and at least 20% in final exam. This will make you eligible to pass a subject and then if you secure marks more than 40% overall while fulfilling the 20% criteria first then you would be considered as pass.Marks distribution:
Assignment Mid Final Marks Final Score 15% 35% 50% 100% For passing a course you are required to get 20% marks overall in all items like assignments, discussions, midterm etc and at least 20% in final exam.
Rest marks= sum of all items like assignments, discussions, midterm etc
Rest Percent= sum of all items percentage like assignments, discussions, midterm etc.
Case 1:

20% Rule for passing a Subject
For passing a subject a student is required to meet the following two requirements:
A student is required to obtain at least 20% marks in first half i.e. Assignments,
Quizzes, Discussions and Midterm collectively and at least 20% in second half i.e.
Final Term exam.A student must secure at least 40% marks overall
A student will be considered as Pass in the subject if he/she fulfills the above two requirements.Marks distribution:
Distribution of marks is according to the Grading Scheme defined by the
academics. Student can view subject Grading Scheme in VULMS under “Course
Website” heading.Example:
